Olympic FC have lured Ben Cahn from Central Coast Mariners to guide their top side in 2018.
The appointment comes after Terry Kirkham stepped down from the role following the conclusion of the season.
Cahn’s appointment is a major coup for the Brisbane-based club, with the 29-year-old considered one of Australia’s rising coaching talents.
He spent two years at Mariners as Youth Team Head Coach and as an assistant to the club’s A-League team.
His role at Olympic will see Cahn oversee the club’s senior football program from Under 18’s through to the men’s team.
Olympic Technical Director Jim Gelagotis said the highly credentialed Cahn, who holds an AFC/FFA A Licence, will be an assist to the club’s 2018 campaign.
“We are very excited to have Ben on board. He is a Queensland coach who has come through the Australian Hyundai A-League pathway which is a fantastic acquisition for the club.”
“We are highly anticipating the 2018 NPL season and believe Olympic will be in the mix come September.”
Olympic are aiming for a return to finals football, after finishing outside the top four the past two seasons.
