Midfielder Jesse Daley has been officially revealed by Lions FC as their latest signing for 2018.
The former Brisbane Roar youth player has been an ever-present in Lions’ Silver Boot campaign since his off-season return from Victoria.
The 20-year-old played last season with NPL Victoria juggernauts South Melbourne and was part of the team that reach the Semi-Final stage of the FFA Cup.
He boasts significant experience at NPL level in Queensland with Roar Youth and Queensland Academy of Sport – with 32 appearances in the Sunshine State’s top club competition.
Daley said he is looking forward to a successful season with the NPL Queensland newcomers.
“I definitely see coming back to Lions and working with Warren Moon as a progression in my career,” Daley said.
“The training environment at Lions is very good, so I’ve adjusted pretty well.”
Daley was captain of the Roar Youth in his final season with the club before linking with Hellas and said he is still has ambitions to push for a professional contract.
“I want to push myself and play at the professional level whether that is in the A-League or overseas,” he concluded.
Daley and his Lions teammates will contest the Silver Boot Final on Saturday prior to their opening round of the NPL Queensland season against former National Soccer League rivals Brisbane City next weekend.
